Course Description:
In Kern County, there are an estimated 5,000 children and youth experiencing homelessness. This professional development experience was created to help support those students. In this course, you will gain a basic understanding of how to identify students experiencing homelessness, and learn more about the McKinney-Vento Act and the role of the McKinney-Vento Liaison.
Along the way, we will provide key information and resources to share with colleagues and families, and you'll feel confident in supporting students in your district!
This course contains two paths. Select the path that works best for you:
- 10-minute video with interactive questions built-in (completion tracked, but no badge awarded)
- Canvas course experience with learning experiences scaffolded and chunked for optimal learning (completion tracked with a badge awarded).
